The Challenge:
The
PDC homesite this is where you can find out all about the event.
Past Runners:
Minor Detour - Ray is a regular contributor to the Morris Minor Forum and a huge inspiration. All the way to Banjul in a Morris Minor.
Oakwood Chugabug - This site is well worth a visit for the animation alone.
Creamy Treats - This is exactly what the challenge is all about. Fantastic. Mine's a Mivvi.
Slightly Clive Racing - You might notice that we've nicked off with some photo from this site. Thanks Sam.
The Car - Trabi links:
The Wartburg, Trabant, IFA
Owners' Club.
The Owners Club
forum, thanks to the folks on here for all manner of useful info and support.
The Trabant Driver
blog just as it says "Trabant Trivia, Trauma, Tristesse and Triumphs".
Supporters
JW Northend - purveyors of damned fine print.
Cognitive Applications - providers of our comments form and makers of some pretty impressive websites.
Silverworks - We've set them a challenge, a 360 degree tour of the inside of a Trabi. We await the results with excitement!
DESQ - it's not quite digital learning but these guys made the camel game for us.
Shalford Green Garage - thanks to these fine folks in Surrey we have 3 gallons of two stroke oil which should easily see us to Banjul.
The Charities:
Find out more on the Charities page but here are some quick links
Heeley City Farm - it's just down our road and we walk past every day.
Seeds for Africa - well worth supporting
ASSET - the folks in Gambia who distribute the thousands raised at the auctions.
Other stuff:
We have previous other offences to be taken into consideration when it comes to keeping old vehicles on the road, not leat with our 250JU
camper van
Sofacom - suppliers of the intitial code to get this site up and running (if it is running).
Bloc Studios - the first Sheffield home for our car whilst we get it ready.
Dominic works at
Sheffield Galleries & Museums Trust
Chris works as House and Collections Manager at
Nostell Priory.
We used to work with a very fine curator who escaped some years ago to France. Helen has a very entertaining
blog about living in France.
We have a Morris Minor and a camper, here's something that combines the two. Meet the
Snail
Flip Flop Flying is a fantastic site, it is difficult to sum up what it's about so just have a look at it's loveliness.
In 2003 Craig from Flip Flop Flying did some great animation for an exhibition we had at the Millennium Galleries you can see it archived
here.
Some people seem to think that we are mad driving from Sheffield to Banjul in a Trabi, at least we have four wheels. Admittedly this
Relaint Robin's engine is nearly twice the size of ours!
